Event Description:
The annual Sunburnt Boys/Sunburnt Girls Lumbee River Experience will begin at 11 am, Saturday, August 25, at the Chalk Banks. The canoe/kayak experience will end at US 401 and return to the Chalk Banks where James Whitehead will be hosting a pig pickin’ with side dishes and a bluegrass band!
The event is the fundraiser for the annual Scotland High School (Laurinburg) and Oban High School (Argyll, Scotland) student exchange - now beginning its 27th year!
About half of the 12 selected applicants could not participate in the exchange without financial assistance which will hopefully be raised on August 25.
