Richmond Community College will be offering a Medical Billing & Coding course. Medical billing and coding specialist helps a healthcare facility manage insurance claims, invoices and payments. The day-to-day work of a medical coding and billing specialist includes properly coding services, procedures, diagnoses and treatments and also preparing and sending invoices or claims for payment. Students must have proof of high school diploma or GED equivalence.
This course will prepare students to sit for the Medical Billing & Coding Certification exam and earn the credentials offered through the National Healthcareer Association. The exam will be proctored Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. at the Robinette Building.
